completed csed's summer fellowship where i explored how spaces residing in the zoos, musuems, and recreational spaces view and prioritize accessibility. this consisted on performing an accessibility audit on various cultural spaces across michigan and ohio to benchmark their accessibility journey. this also consisted of meeting with stakeholders to hear first hand of what efforts they are taking to create an inclusive environment, and what roadbloacks they are encountering.

by the end of this project, we were able to create a accessibility self-assessment that focused on a space's features that support visitors with sensory sensitivites. we distributed this quiz to staff and other stakeholders associated with the public spaces we collected observations from and also gave them access to a design guide we created. this guide contains details, based on their results in the quiz, of best practices for improving accessibility in their space so they can create an inclsuive environment.

design justice

september 2023 - june 2024

researcher within professors julia kramer & sita syal's colab 'ember - edge colab', and explored how justice is being discussed and acheived in the field of design. this consited of: conducting thematic analysis to find themes of justice in engineering design, connecting data to other work within field and outside of engineering ,writing analyses of themes relating justice to engineering design, searching for additional papers in other academic journals and conduct qualitative coding, and assist with academic paper writing.

spoon app - interaction design si 582

january 2024 - april 2024

this course was centered around desiging an artifact to support a local community. due to michigan's constant unsupport for their disabled community members, i created an app that allows users to naviagte campus in an easier and safer way.

features of this app include:

1. calendar syncing to allow automatic reminders for departure times
2. ride ordering, with multiple options to fit varrying mobility aids
3. real time maps with hazard reporting
4. user profile to privately input assistance preferences to provide the user a sense of autonomy
5. and more!

whispr - analytical product design desci 501

august 2023 - december 2023

working with a team, we created a wearable device that dampens a user's voice up to 20db. it utilizied active and passive noise cancelling technologies, in combination with live audio monitoring and playback, to give a user maximum sound attenuation while practing singing, talking, or taking private phonecalls. this project was born from michigan's desci 501 - analytical product design course, where we learned the phases of traditional design processes, starting from customer discovey and ending with creating a full fledge business plan. see our full portfolio for this project by visiting this link.
